Mark Lafferty, M.D. | Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Board Certified
Dr. Lafferty hails from Prestonsburg, a small town in eastern Kentucky. He moved on to Lexington, Ky where he graduated from Transylvania University one of the nation's leading, private education institutions. From there he graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine with his MD degree.
He has a broad background in medicine. He did his Internship in General Surgery, and one additional year of residency training at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He eventually moved into Emergency Medicine and developed urgent care centers. After gaining a wide range of experience he ultimately he returned to training in Obstetrics and Gynecology his heartfelt choice from his first rotation in medical school.
He completed his residency training at one of the country's top residency programs - the University of Louisville, under the directorship of Stan Gall, MD, then chairman of the ACOG scientific committee. There he was mentored by several nationally recognized experts in various fields of Ob/Gyn. While there Dr. Lafferty authored two original papers on Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring and received the Louisville Ob/Gyn Society's highest award for a scientific work. Before finishing he garnered two additional awards for his research, one from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) District IV and another from the Louisville Ob/Gyn Society.
Dr. Lafferty and his wife Martha celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently and he has two children - now young adults. Besides the family his outside interests include sports and photography. He played the number 1 position in tennis for Transylvania University. But these days his favorite outdoor sport is golf. Lindsey Kyte, CNM/WHNP | Nurse Midwife, Board Certified
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
Lindsey Kyte is a board Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is a native of Macon, GA where she graduated with Honors from Tattnall Square Academy and studied Nursing at the former Macon State College. Lindsey then gained her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University based out of eastern Kentucky. She has a passion for supporting women throughout labor and birth. Lindsey also has a drive for bringing awareness about perinatal mood disorders and the effect women’s mental health has on overall health.
Lindsey is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and is certified through Waterbirth International in assisting women desiring a water birth. If you desire a Waterbirth please inquire about the current policies affecting those births.
Married with two young sons, Lindsey enjoys outdoor adventures with her family. She also enjoys music and making jewelry. She ultimately desires to empower, inform, and support women wherever that may be in their life cycle, through puberty, childbearing, and menopause.
